As a tutor, I believe every student can learn whatever he or she wants with the proper motivation and know-how. I provide both by working one-on-one to ensure understanding. I also feel that if I can get to know my students on a personal level, I am better able to connect with them on the academic level.I received my bachelor's degree in 2011 from Clayton State University in Middle Grades Education. My concentration areas are Language Arts and Social Studies. I am certified to teach in Georgia where I am teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at a small private school. I also have experience teaching 5th grade and was a student teacher of Social Studies in 7th grade.My tutoring subjects include Social Studies, Language Arts, Geography, and U.S. Government and Politics. In Language Arts I teach Writing, Literature, and Grammar. I think knowing grammar rules is essential so I emphasize them. My Literature tutoring teaches students to scan for comprehension and to read critically. In Social Studies, I love history and am well-versed in Great Britain's Tudor period.In my leisure time I enjoy cooking and baking, watching football (especially the Georgia Bulldogs!), traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
